Terms and conditions

Versione italiana · This is a translation. If the two versions differ, the Italian version prevails.

1. Who we are

Ripetiamo is a non-professional project run by Eugenio Roveda, a private individual (“Ripetiamo” or “we”). Ripetiamo is not a company and does not receive payments from users. You can write to us at info@ripetiamo.eu, which is also our single point of contact under Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (Digital Services Act).

2. What Ripetiamo does

Ripetiamo is an online board where people offering private lessons (“Tutors”) and people looking for them (“Students”) post listings, write to each other through the built-in chat and book lessons. Ripetiamo acts solely as an intermediary:

  • it does not offer lessons, is not a school and is not a party to the agreement between Tutor and Student;
  • it is not the employer, client or agent of the Tutors, who act independently and in their own name;
  • it does not select Tutors, does not check the qualifications and skills they declare, and does not guarantee the quality, outcome or delivery of lessons;
  • it does not set prices, times, places or formats of lessons, which are decided by Tutor and Student.

3. Who can use Ripetiamo

  • You must be at least 18 to post listings offering lessons.
  • You can create an account if you are at least 14. If you are between 14 and 17, a parent or legal guardian must know and agree.
  • For anyone under 14, the account must be created and managed by a parent.
  • A parent who authorises a minor is responsible for the minor's use of the service.
  • The age information you enter must be true: we use it to apply these rules.

4. Listings, messages and content

You agree to provide true and up-to-date information. You are solely responsible for what you post and write (listings, messages, reports). The area you enter in a listing is used to calculate the distance from other users: enter a city or neighbourhood, not your home address. It is forbidden to post false, offensive, discriminatory, sexual or illegal content or content that infringes the rights of others, to ask minors for personal data, and to use Ripetiamo for purposes other than private lessons.

4a. Reviews

After a confirmed lesson, the Student can leave a review, visible to everyone. Reviews must be truthful, respectful and about the lesson. Ripetiamo may remove reviews that are false, offensive or contain personal data. The “Verified student” badge only means the account uses an email from the stated university: it does not certify skills or qualifications.

5. Bookings and payments

When you book, you send a request to the Tutor, who can confirm or decline it. The contract for the lesson is concluded directly between Tutor and Student. Payment takes place directly between them, in whatever way they agree (for example cash, bank transfer or a payment app). Ripetiamo does not take part in payments, does not collect or hold users' money and does not charge commission on lessons.

Cancellations, delays and any refunds are settled between Tutor and Student. Each Tutor is solely responsible for declaring their own earnings and for any other tax or social security obligation.

6. Meeting safely

In-person lessons take place under the responsibility of those taking part. We ask you to meet in public or busy places (libraries, study rooms) or at the Student's home with an adult present, and, for Students under 18, to always tell a parent where and when. If anything makes you uncomfortable, stop the lesson and report it to us. In case of immediate danger, call 112.

7. Reports

You can report a listing, a message or a behaviour with the “Report” button or by writing to info@ripetiamo.eu. We review reports promptly and may remove content or suspend accounts. If your content is removed or your report rejected, we explain why and you can ask us to review the decision.

8. Suspension and closing your account

You can delete your account at any time from “My space”: we delete your profile, listings, bookings and messages. We may suspend or close an account if it breaches these terms, if we receive well-founded reports or if required by law, stating our reasons.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Ripetiamo is not liable for what happens between users, in particular for the delivery, quality or failure to deliver lessons, payments between users, users' behaviour during meetings and the truthfulness of the information users post. Ripetiamo is also not liable for interruptions of the service due to causes beyond its control.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits Ripetiamo's liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or the rights that the law grants to consumers.

10. Privacy

We process your personal data as described in the Privacy and cookie notice.

11. Advertising

Ripetiamo shows advertisements, always labelled “Advertisement” or “Sponsored”. We only show non-personalised advertising, that is, not based on your profile or browsing.

12. Changes

We may update these terms, for example if we introduce online payments. We will let you know at least 15 days before any significant change; if you don't accept it, you can delete your account.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Italian law. For consumer users, the competent court is that of the consumer's place of residence or domicile. You can also turn to the alternative dispute resolution bodies provided for by law.
